Near Drownings At Peg

The Master said today two fellows nearly met their end trying to cross Peg Leg channel on Friday.

I talked to our gravel technical guys at our Fraser River Gravel Stewardship Committee on Friday and they told me without doubt the gravel excavations above deepened out this channel, not that I am blaming them for what happened but it was the foolishness of those trying to cross in waders. Many are using boats to slip across now.

Thats very sad people are risking their lives just to go to a bar when there are plenty along the fraser  :-*

Sad to hear about these type of incidents. However, Peg Leg is one of the biggest bars around, and like it or not good bottom bouncing water. Surprised though that no enterprising individual has set up a shuttle service, to take people back and forth across the channel  for a couple of bucks.  ;D

Insurance would be costly and is it sort of guiding too? Could be complicated.

I couldn't imagine anyone who likes to fish crowded water and that's all that a shuttle would create.

There used to be a guy who did that about 10 years ago, I do believe his name was Greg. I heard that he ran into some legal issues for not having a water taxi permit. I heard that it is possible but you will jump through hoops to do it.
