Was out at the mouth of the Fraser doing some salmon fishing but got out there by 2pm thus the hot sun...possibly affected the results (zero fish...zero hits...though I got excited at one pt. but it was just the down-rigger lead ball dragging the bottom...went from 60 ft to 40ft just like that)
We counted more than 50 boats out at once & never saw any boat taking a fish.
Mind you the early risers who get out to Sandheads & fish towords the airport...appartantly get their limits !!! Fish seem to be more aggressive in the am...after 12 noon the "bite" just dies.........
But who can be neg. as it was such a hot sunny day with calm waters & a slight breeze...just being out there was great !!!
Early fishing seems to be the answer but the weather is to cool down alot so who knows maybe the fishing will be good in the coming afternoons as well

DANGER SPOT is near the No 8 RED BELL channel marker & over to the south where the pilons start to appear...just west of that location way out on the side channel where alot of boats tend to also pass is ONE BIG MOTHER of a DEAD HEAD...it is huge & leans over to the west & sticks out just a few inches from the surface & this one would be hard to see if there is some chop or if a late boater is traveling in at dusk.
Careful for that hazard as it will hole or damage one's hull badly or even flip our boat. And it is located quite far out in the middle of the side channel!
