I love the internet...everyone has the answer.
Ask bug pumper and he will tell you that it drives him crazy when he asks me a question and I say the answer is yes and no. Same answer here though. I saw some trucks make it thru, I saw some trucks get stuck. How much off roading does your friend do, how well does he know the channels? all I can tell you is we witnessed 3 trucks getting stuck and one new $50k vehicle sounding like an old beater and smokin like an SOB when it went in and hit a deep spot (water was pooring out the cab too). Guys didnt even fish, they let it idle for 20 min and then headed for home.
There are lots of facotrs outside of water level that determine if its crossable so be careful.
PS - look at the nickname of the guy who replied...doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in me!
Thanks, Gooey.
That's the kind of response I was looking for.
My friend is not from the area - he's visiting, so I have to be the one in the know.
I drive a decent 4X4 (standard edition Nissan Pathfinder), but I don't know if I'll venture it.
I don't need to get stuck. It would definitely ruin my day.
If closer to the weekend you figure it's a no-brainer because of low water levels, please let me know.
Cheers,
Milo
