Sockeye Humour !!!!
« on: August 27, 2010, 11:57:34 AM »

;D Early one afternoon I took my two grandsons out hoping to get them into some fish . Few Sockeyers were out and we had lots of room with our boat in close to shore , Around five the bar filled up with still civil room . Then a boat with two older couples  bargred in and one of the Ladies waded out 12-15 feet from the bow of my boat and proceded to cast . I had no problem with this as she was a short caster and would not cause tangle problems .
::) Now her husband joins her by wading in between her and my boat 6 feet away .
;)  With tounge in cheek I than suggested to him that there was room in my boat (already three of us in a 16 ft) . He said OK and proceeded to wade to the boat when his
  Wife stated "DEAR I DON`T THINK THATS WHAT HE MENT' . ;D ;D ;D
Cheers and try to stay classy out there  ;)

A wheelchair bound fisherman was seated just below the water line enjoying his sockeye experience.  That was until a 20' something jet boat beached just upstream and the resulting wave pushed the handicapped individual over.  Fortunately he was wearing a life jacket and seated in some very slack water.  His buddies came quickly to his aid.
The boaters felt pretty bad after realizing the situation.
Not too funny... but kinda for those who witnessed it;D

Guy beside me with a coffee grinder caught a snagged but thinking he had a fish on fought it for 1/2 hour.

He even stopped to smoke a cigarette and continue to fight the "fish".

I thought that it was hilarious...just minding my own business so I did not feel like bothering him.

Guy beside me snagged up and thought it was a fish. "Fought" it for 10 minutes and broke his reel. I couldn't stop laughing.

I love the guys who hook a fish and yell "SPRING", walk the fish all the way down the bar, and return with a pink or small sockeye, obviously foul hooked.

Or the guy last year during pink season on the Vedder, where ever pink he would hook would yell "COHO"

Or the Drunk native drift netting the Fraser and singing out loud, and all the sportsfisherman on the bar singing along with him.

I was fishing for sockeye on Sunday on one of the crowded bars in Chilliwack.  I had just finished reeling in my line and was about to cast out again, when I took a step backwards only to end up back to back with another fisherman that had just arrived and apparently found some open space to fish from.   ::)

I laughed to myself and called it a day.
