We did not get that much rain today and it was fine when I looked at it this morning, very cool out so should be OK tomorrow. Trying to decide if should give it one more try tomorrow or go hunting or after cutthroat.

that's a good choice, never a bad day out on the river... beats a day at work hands down.

I went to the upper river this morning and walked the river.  As Chris mentioned, water was good, but productive water was tough to find.  But then again, it could just be me. :D  I saw about a dozen people on the river during the morning and I didn't notice any fish being taken.

Also Chris, I think I may have bumped into you this morning at the side of the road and chatted about a few spots.  If that was you, nice to meet you.

I think if one puts the time in you may find a fish but I am getting a bit restless at this time of year and do not keep at it long enough. Thinking, should I be duck hunting or looking for cutthroat in preparation for brood capture.

well, it's simple, just do all 3 at once.

Rodneys report was motivating to say the least. As I'm not familiar with other systems I'm inclined to spend some time of the vedder which I know a little better. I do plan to explore the chehalis soon not so much for coho but for the upcoming steel season.

If I could go shooting I'd probably do that, supposed to sign up for the fire arm classes with a friend who has inherited his grand fathers hunting gear.

OK ducks first, coho Vedder, cutthroat and back for a Leaf win in Florida, will try for success in all 4. Report tomorrow.

Was up at  Allison Canyon today  river was higher enough for  some kayakers to  come down .
Saw several chum   and saw 7-8  coho, mostly coloured, 2 chromies  none would take my offering .
only saw 4 other people there , none had taken anything.

How was the river looking this weekend?

I have a few spare hours tomorrow morning and thinking about making my way out

I see no reason why it should not be fishable, snow line down on the hills and not that much rain here in the Valley.

I've added a poll to this thread just like last year's, asking readers to choose how many hatchery marked coho salmon they have retained this season. The season is not completely over of course, there is still a chance to encounter coho salmon, so you can in fact vote now but change your vote later on (by clicking on "remove vote" and re-vote). The poll is for fun only of course, would be good for comparison with other anglers as well as a seasonal comparison after we've done this for a few years.

Good question, I totally forgot to take those into consideration. I would say don't count jacks as they and adult coho are from different brood years.
