I saw 3 guys with spey rods fishing the upper Coquihalla while I was driving by yesterday, did it even open this year???

it should have stayed closed. funny how many guys leap to fish it when it opens but wont do anything to help it when its closed.

Rumour has it.......... they are closing it down  Thursday 9/9/2010.

Now that is a river that is a blast from the past. I don't think I would spey fish it though it is such a narrow channel a single hander will more then cover it. What a river though used to really enjoy the steelheading there.

Very much agree, pretty little river. Much too small for a two hander..too bad the yahoos who camp up there leave such a mess.We took out 20 bags of assorted garbage on our last trip,think you might need 20 dump trucks to haul all the crap that's been left behind. Very sad indeed.

Only way to get around that is to make it illegal to camp overnight on that section of the river. Makes you wonder why some people go camping in the first place.
