Best fishing lines I ever use is P-Line. I hated Maxima fishing lines I think is the most over rate fishing there is.

I've used P-Line CXX X-tra Strong Moss Green 20lb main, on both of my bait casters as of last year (which I had ZERO problems with, would definitely recommend it)....just had my C4 re-spooled with Berkley Big Game 20lb today so we'll see how that is. The guy at Army & Navy said there's nothing wrong with it, apparently it's just as good as ultragreen  :-\

Trilene Big Game is without a doubt better line than Maxima UG.  Maxima gets brittle and coily after only a few outings (even quicker in salt water).  Big Game lasts a whole season.  After an entire season, I pull the first ~100yds off my 6500C3 and put that very same line on my Abu RCN50 and its still good.

--I'm always searching for and using specialty lines.
-- Taking into account what I want the line to do then matching the characteristics of the line to the situation as warrented. As always the best test is against your own go to line.
--I have 20 # ultra green on my old favourite peetz reel... they seem to go together and have been using them for as long as I can remember trolling for larger fish... the adjustments I have made... I tried damyline.. 27# by D.A.M., it was actually smaller diameter than the  20# ultra green thus could have more line and higher pound test. On same peetz reel size I have 10 kg platypus lo-stretch in pink... this line disappears quickly at depth but gives some visibility for long line trolling.. lo stretch about 12% is usefull in long line trolling for hook set but still flexible enough to keep the fish hooked.

--I import Platypus line so obviously it would be my first choice as a brand. One of the reasons I cosponsor fish porn is to get line into the hands of people that actually fish. Feedback is important as I cannot (although if people buy enough line I might be able to ) test the line in every situation and type of fishing.
--Also of note: line which may be chosen by a professional may not be the best for general use by all fishers... professionals often have finely tuned rods, reels and presentations that put them on the edge. They may give up abrasion resistance for an ultra thin line... but also have the luxury of changing the line more often that most.
--We don't have a line for every situation... if we did we wouldn't have an excuse to justify our test fishing.

I personally go with those Big Game monofilament line. Wasn't the brand Trilene?
I still have trouble deciding between 15 or 17 lb test for main.  ::)
Yea big game and trilene are two lines made by berkley, two decent lines imo and big game is slightly tougher.

--Yep: kinda like whats your favourite snow tire...depends... are you driving on mainly plowed roads, off road interior dry powder, compacted wet coastal snow etc.

--Often line characteristics are overlooked as part of a fishers arsenal. As with anything once you get into specialty equipment it may not be as adaptable to all situations.  Relative to the price of all your equipment used, line is quite cheap, so experiment once and a while.
I can say with certainty although you may not find the perfect line, you don't need to be an expert to know when you've made a poor line choice.

i think it really depends where you're fishing and what the water conditions are. I love my braided line on my baitcaster with a top shot if the water's clear. In general though, Max. Chameleon for the pin, Ultragreen for leader.
