Care to elaborate, Roeman?
Meathead Mike is a beginner and he was asking about the best places on the Vedder to catch big fish, a.k.a. meatholes.

I even offered a map with all the meatholes on it. (BTW, thanks HOOK for pointing out that the Limit (Boundary) Hole is closed to all angling). What specifically was ignorant in my post?
Are you pissed off that I revealed all of your favourite spots to a newbie? That must be it!
That, or someone pissed in your cereal this morning. ROTFLMAO!

Only thing I was asking in exchange is for him to stay away from the 'in between' runs where some of us like to chuck flies and don't really care that much about the catching.

I've always said it, the Vedder beyond the meatholes is heaven...it takes a while to get there, though...

Peace.

I tend to agree with you Milo, I think Roeman was out of line. After all, you did put a smiley face on the end. I have seen the word ignorant thrown out there way too much lately. I wonder how many of the users actually know what it means.

Come on Mr. Moderator, have a little fun now and then ;D ;D ;D
Imagine, though, some poor guy that wants to learn to fish salmon in the fall rivers and has no friends that fish so he can't go to them for help.

After reading this, the individual now goes out and sees the way things are done at the "ugly" places a soon learns that THIS is the way to fish...  Do we want to have people learn to fish like THIS?

DragonSpeed,

You planted a seed...I am one of those poor fishermen...well ok, I could afford my licence and a few betties, but that said.. I don't have a selection of knowledgeable buddies to go fishing with and pick their brains, so I use this forum to help educate myself. The issues I face is to separate the comments from the inflexible fishermen who think there is only one way to go about it and the more moderate who offer choices.

Wouldn't it be nice if a dozen or so "Expert" fisherman to hold a symposium on fishing? Charge maybe $10 a head, have sponsors like Bradley and different tackle shops and or manufacturers? and have multiple info sessions and demonstations?

Promote through local papers and tackle shops.....educate the fishermen and the public?????    something to make you go hmmmm.....

or some newbie fisherman (like yourself) could always ASK a more experienced person to help you out by fishing with you a couple times and teaching you the ropes so to speak. I have gone out with many new fisherman and shown them some stuff and helped them figure things out, even helped get them into fish from time to time  ;)

some of my best times fishing are helping less knowledgeable anglers and watching it pay off  ;D especially kids

Hmmm, I didn't say newbie, I think I referred to being poor. I have been fishing for 6 years, so I would consider myself an intermediate fisherman,That said though,  there is allot to learn. I don't believe any 1 person knows everything, but each more experienced person can teach you something new.

So now all I need is your phone number so I can ask a more experienced fisherman some finer techniques for Vedder fishing, styles and spots and dangers I may not be aware of and maybe go fishing. ;)

One thing I do know is that teaching makes the teacher a better fisherman, because they learn something new in the process as well.

Go to "FRED'S" spend $1.00 on a map of the river.
Walk them, the runs on the map, and you will learn.
DON'T be disappointed by some others pseudo success.
But, watch, and even ask, the fishers that move.
