I'll throw my own little report in here and I must say that Chris' comment rings oh-so-true for me as well. This morning at first light the action was non-stop and I had 4 fish on in 25 minutes before finally hooking a tank that took me up river about 100 yards, then made a beeline back for the Fraser and took me all the way down to the arbor knot...... so 200 yards of braid shot off in 20 seconds. Bite really seemed to slow down at least for me and another guy when the first heat of the day started around 9 o clock.
Lots of sockeye moving into Sweltzer Creek on route to Cultus Lake today, be careful and let these guys go spawn. This year is the best since 1999 for sockeye in Cultus according to fence counts, so lets make sure every one either gets collected for broodstock or get's a chance to spawn.
I took a look down on the river from the Vedder Crossing bridge and it was a carpet of springs stacked up below the rapid upstream. For those of you headed for the Vedder, stop for a minute and take a look off the bridge and you'll probably see what I mean.
