i have been trying to catch a doe chum for the roe for a week now but i am only catching bucks is their a way to target does rather than bucks

No...Luck of the draw...could be theres alot more bucks then does biting in the place you are fishing.Make sure you eat the meat after you harvest the fish for the roe.

Great point. I was on the Stave late in the afternoon today and seen at least 10 does with a slit belly laying on the rocks...
Just take them with you on the way out and someone will be happy to take the fish off your hands..

Use a more manly aftershave or get testosterone shots. Or maybe you are just not too attractive to females in general. Maybe just strip down and rub your body with the next male chum you catch, the blacker the better. Even better get one running milt and use that.

i think it may be a little early in the morning for that Speycaster LOL 


fly fisher - i find using small sparse flies get more doe chum then regular chum type flies. I normally do good with alomost any coho fly at getting bright ones. try and fish where the boots arent stacked up at all as well it will help greatly and yes i do catch big teethies as well.

I also think the does tend to come in a little later, i mean the majority of them. I always see loads of males around before females starting showing up in any big numbers

Once you guys have a few more years under your belts you'll see a pattern-bucks before does.

It helps to have hungry/not too choosy neighbours when killing Does that way you can give them the depleted bodies while keeping the Roe for Ikura.
