i've seen a few, looks like there is more around this year than the last time i was fishing the stave, even had to rescue one who got it's self stuck in some tall grass, 20pounder or so

They are all white springs is the Stave. Lots of them in there too Bwi.

Thank you for the info.  I live less than 10 min from it and doesn't really know what's in it.

There are a few reds in there.
I got one a few weeks back,so they do exist,but rare I think.
Got a few over the years and they are mostly whites but not all.

They have been returning to the Stave for at least 10 years. When I first heard about them in 2000, my sources said n0-0ne was able to make them strike. I responded with "That is because no-one has come up with the right combination". I was scoffed at as usual and challenged to catch them. On my right bicep the dates of my first and second (35lb & 36lb) fly caught, Stave River springs are tattooed.  They are there, but you need to hunt for them.
