After spending 7 days with Alexandra Morton on her Paddle for Wild Salmon I was anxious to get back to the flow today.

I tried to get to the river at first light but that did not happen due to the always present e mails to deal with, I arrived at the Chum Run about an hour late. ::) It was a bit nippy and it gave me an indication the steelhead season is just around the corner.

Ha,ha if emails are preventing you from going fishing, something's wrong.
Got my first steelhead of the season last week and then it snowed on the mountaints. The anticipation of the steelhead season is growing.

if your gonna go fly only this winter pay attention to other anglers find out which spots are visited often by experienced anglers and worked harder than usual. take note of which runs produce the most. chances are some of there runs will be choice fly runs as well but most wont be.... your best chances with the fly will be feb on.. get out as much as possible to increase your odds. good luck
