Congrats on your catch, sounds like you worked for it.

Aren't all those rainbow trout at grocery stores pellet fed as well?  Never tried one but they can't be that bad.

I think your trying to say that beef, lamb , chicken that we all eat everyday is gross cause its farmed and pellet feed??
The trout is no different , and superstore sells the same ones for like $4-5 each, HMMM free trout!!!
And yes, i have tasted plenty of wild trout and the taste is just a little different.
Every fish i ate from lafarge was so good!!! The broods are like a big salmon treat!!!
They taste even better!!!, Cant wait to go and catch some more this week!!!!

its not because they are pellet fed specifically but because they are fed medication that changes their taste a bit from wild fish however i have found wild fish get that muddy flavour all to often from the shallow lakes i enjoy fishing which is why you need to get them early or get them late. To each their own i guess, like i said im not a trout eater but once in a blue moon i will indulge lake side with one that has literally just left the water  ;D

Enjoy those fish from LaFarge then!  You clearly do not know the difference....if you think that wild trout taste a "little" different then you must be mistaken and have never actually had one.  The meat quality, texture, colour and taste are very different.  Grocery store trout is awful.  And yes the farmed lamb and chicken also have very different qualities then the wild stuff.  It's not as big a deal as you are making it though.  To each his own.

But seriously......
The broods are like a big salmon treat!!!
They taste even better!!!

That might be the funniest thing I have heard in a while!

I am very pleased to hear that guys like you are sticking to the stocked lakes and not pulling fish from our rivers and streams.  If only all meat fisherman loved stocked trout as much as you.  Then all our rivers and streams we be rid of the flossers and the garbage that they leave behind.
and oh yeah.....all of this "!!!!!!!"  and this "!!!!!!!" is a bit much.  I mean yeah we get it....you love to eat broods and refuse to allow any of the young kids who fish those lakes a chance at a bigger fish. Good for you.

These are put and take fish. Why are you dissing someone who wants to eat them?
I don't eat trout, but that's mainly because I don't like eating small fish and I can't bring myself to kill a big one.
To each their own. There are many countries where a brood trout would be a tremendous delicacy.

Personally I do not eat the stocked trout, I have before but I like to just catch and release when I go. Fun way to spend a morning or afternoon when you cant get out to the river or other fisheries are not available. Also its alot of fun for young kids who cannot fish the rivers or bigger water. If you want to EAT those broods go ahead...but consider letting them go, they're a great opportunity for the kids to catch a larger fish they wont have the chance at otherwise.
Consider this, that brood is an old used up gigilo or preggo...they've been swimming in the same pond/tanks beaten and bruised...let it be lol

There are people starving all over the world and you guys are knockin a guy for eating a fish because it might not taste as good as some others... unbelievable.  There are people who would beat each other senseless for food like that.
