Just to clarify for all those who presumed I was guilty of fishing within the closed areas...I own a lot at The Glen at Maple Falls and therefore do most of my fishing above the hatchery within the Glen property as I can comfortably walk for 5 minutes to get to the river. 90% of the time I am alone. Also, for those who are interested, I have and carry with me a U.S. freshwater licence which enables me to fish for salmon and steelhead in most any Washington State river.I have, in the last three years, caught and released unharmed a grand total of 6 steelhead but have hooked and lost a 1/2 dozen more. I am well aquainted with the Washington State rules and regs and can honestly say that I have not bonked a fish yet. I have been checked by a US fisheries officer twice, once above the MLB and once below and have nothing to fear as I am always legal. Now, to answer the burning question of where I was fishing on that fateful day...I was fishing below the Mosquito Lake Bridge approx 1km down stream where the river makes a sharp curve to the left, as I tend to gravitate towards locations where I have been successful in the recent past. Thanks also to those who chose to give me the benefit of the doubt, your faith encourages me and I would love to share a 'run' with any of you anytime.
