last summer on the island i saw a guy using a 16ft spey rod 4wt for pinks, thing sure was long but for beach fishing he could reallly get it out there. An 18ft would make a good fraser rod. and it might have been longer then 13'6 but he either said 13'6 or 16'6 i cant rember :-[

I just use this telescopic rod for carp fishing and want to try for pinks. ;) ;)

Chrome, I just stripped my GLX! I am redoing all the cork and using a w fitting. I know it will void my warranty but got it for such a good deal I decided to just work with the blank rather than sell and buy another blank. I'll post some pics up when done.

Chrome, tried to sell my
hue-nut ,how much it will cost you. I'm thinking to do it with my GLX1352. Can you change part of cork or have to replace all section?
thanks,

I would be careful about using your telescopic rod for salmon fishing.
When I started salmon fishing in BC, I did not have any rods except a telescopic rod for carp fishing my friend gave, as all my fishing gear were at my parents home far away. I hooked my first salmon on that 3 meter tele rod and the salmon just snapped the rod in half in no time.  An old timer saw this happen and must have seen my dispirited face. He stopped and chatted with me a long time to boost my dented ego and gave me many good pointers to follow.

I know pinks are small, but they are still salmon. No? ;)

Geff, I met Duncan on the river the other day, and he had one of the loomis blanks with w fitting that you sold him, dang! that rod was a steal for $250! very nice craftsmanship

i think the guy you met sold it to me. he had it for a couple of days and said it was to long for his liking. 11 foot loomis with the w fitting. geff_t sold it to him i believe. going to try it out on friday and saturday
