Buntzen and Como got their fish today. We spent the day with the hatchery to get our filming projects done. :)

We even did a bit of fishing ourselves at Como. ;D

On Tuesday, Sasamat (and Lafarge? Have to confirm) were stocked. Mike was originally going to be stocked but last minute changes were made.

I'll have the numbers up either on the weekend or early next week.

Man, I haven't fished Como since I was a kid when there was an age restriction.

How was the fishing at como Rodney, I was up at Buntzen and came as close to a skunking as it get's. I was using all their favorite flies at all different depths, man was it slow.

Ah that's too bad. We wanted to make a few casts there after stockings because the lake looked so calm. The fish went into the lake at around 12:30pm - 1:00pm yesterday.

They dumped 3 truckloads of steelhead smolts into the Stave yesterday.  I think 20,000 of them was the number I heard.

The return number of Chilliwack Vedder does not look to be that small.
Does anybody know how many steelhead smolts are they releasing there every year??

Hatchery marked juvenile steelhead release numbers do not entirely depend on the their brood returns. The number of broods taken to produce the stock at the hatchery is the same each year (35 pairs I believe) so the numbers are pretty similar each year, regardless how good the adult returns are.
