that is so awesome, i caught a garter snake when i was a kid and kept it as a pet one summer until of course it escaped.
it'd be so cool to see that

Used to catch a bunch of them in Abby but never seen anything like it. Very coOl

Interesting find. I used to catch then as a kid in the park under rocks and dead stumps. Didn't think they'd be around the river.

Awesome pic Jim, i havent seen a mating ball since i was a kid hunting and catching these things all the time as kid. They do bite however and do have teeth that will leave marks, of course they dont bite often though but man they have a stench to them.

Great pic esp # 2.  I'm not sure about here in BC but in Manitoba and Ontario the Garter Snakes return to the same spots to mate just like salmon do.

Yea they r quite foul smelling
