Campbell River
« on: June 22, 2011, 08:46:42 PM »

Heading up there this weekend - anyone fished the river recently?  Wondering if it's worth spending a few hours chasing trout??

Any recent reports?

Cheers!

Hi Mickeyman,
we are going to be up there in August so if Kype doesn't take it we'd happily take them off your hands. There should be some pinks up there by now.
Cheers,
Nick

Thanks all,

Also thanks to Mickeyman with the Whale Watching voucher - sadly we will be there this weekend then not sure when back again (depends on how good the Fraser Valley gets!!)  Very kind though - thanks for the thought.

Great news on the Quinsam too.

Cheers and have a great weekend one and all.

Just a heads up...lots of bears in and around the Quinsam. Maybe not as many now compared to large salmon runs.
But one is too many sometimes, take care and make noise going in and out.

Heard a few Pinks were caught in the ocean around the Campbell area, certainly sounds like a promising year.

I was there last year the second week of July and there were already lots of pinks around in the Quinsam and Campbell. no retention then.

Hey, I was up at campbell river sunday the 10th, and the quinsam the same day. There isnt a large run of pink in the river, they are still a bit late compared to last year. Should be coming in anytime now there, was a fair amount of anglers trying when I was there. There are a couple of bridges near the quinsam you can look off and spot the runs of pink.

good luck

mikeyman is that a voucher for 1 person?

2nd!

I'm going to be in Campbell River for a family reunion this summer.  Would love to take one of the old folks out for the tour.

I'm in Langley.

Thanks,

Damien
