Subject: FN0510-RECREATIONAL - SALMON - Region 2 (Lower Mainland)- Fraser River Pink Salmon
In 2011, the pre season forecast, at the 50% probability level, is 17.5M for
Fraser River Pink Salmon. The forecast has a range of 11.8M to 37.5M. At this
forecast level it is anticipated that increased opportunities exist for the
recreational sector.
Effective one hour before sunrise, Saturday, July 16, 2011 until one hour after
sunset, Friday, December 31, 2011 the daily limit for Fraser River Pink Salmon
is increased to four (4) per day in the following waters:
- Fraser River - the non-tidal waters of the Fraser River in Region 2
- Stave River - downstream of B.C. Hydro Dam to the CPR railway Bridge
- Harrison River - from the Highway 7 Bridge downstream to the confluence with
the Fraser River
- Chilliwack/Vedder Rivers – downstream of a line between two triangular
boundary signs on either side of the Chilliwack River 100 meters downstream
from the confluence of the Chilliwack River and Slesse Creek, including that
portion of the Sumas River from the Barrow Town Pump Station downstream to
boundary signs near the confluence with the Fraser River.
