Fraser conditions - spot?
« on: July 15, 2011, 08:18:51 PM »

I was up at vedder early in the week and didnt take the time to take a look at the fraser on my way back.

Has anyone that's local to it been to the water lately to take a look? Is it as high as fast as the vedder (comparably speaking I mean)? Worth fishing next week?

I have never spent a tonne of time on the Fraser as I usually dont have time to make it to the valley and for some reason always end up fishing in yarrow, any best bets on spots that aren't to crowded (no boat)? I usually end up bar fishing in east Richmond and I'm not used too the huge crowds.

Went and had a look this morning :o Won't be any bars to fish on for quite a while yet (maybe by September ;D). River is ripping right along and no visibility.

Is there any other areas that have opportunity for salmon right now that don't require bar fishing in the Fraser? I usually bar fish in town (I live in Richmond and bar fish when I want to relax) but when I do the early wake up Im more into action fishing like throwing spoons or floating roe

crest is one thing but its already 6-7 feet higher than this time last year so i doubt we get alot of the bars too fish from until early september unless it completely stops raining up north from now onwards

By that I meant it is up near the top of the dykes, so not exactly bar fishing time.

Pegleg March 13 - dry

Just down from Pegleg July 14 - river breeching. It's gone down a bit since then, but not much.

Might be bad for fishermen but I bet it's good for fish one way or the other.

Thanks guys,

I went to vedder yesterday with a friend, one hit at peach road in early a.m. no fish though (this seems to be the trend for me so far this year), 2 hours went by with nothing happening so around 8am we went to check out the fraser (as I wanted to take a peak for myself) and access see if most of my usual spots are ready... well... predictably the spots aren't there yet.

Went to Rolly after and tossed some worms out and enjoyed the scenery then went home.

I'm pretty confident that by 1st week of July we will be much closer to normal in in the valley, what do you guys think though, could we still have higher water into late august or even sept?  Thoughts?
