This How The Scale Bar Looked On Opening Day, August 13, 2011

Coming back from the Thompson River near dark I filmed the parking situation and the activity at Scale.

Even the geese came for a look.   ;D ;D

--I don't get it...not many in lifejackets...even inflatables.  I fish the kettle river which can easily cast a fly across and often swim in the deeper holes this time of year in the warm water... yet when geared up for fishing I always wear my inflatable collar. Not just for me... but think of the guy that might try and save you if you go in fast cold water.. I believe it is an obligation and shows respect for other anglers to wear and bring safety gear.. I have a throw rope on my boat so why not take one to the bar.. to be clear... a fishing bar... never know what you'll catch.

Was at Gill Road Bar early yesterday saw in 2 hrs. only one sockeye caught, oddly not many fishing from shore like myself, parking lot full of boats, launching was very busy.  Approached by senior fisherman and asked how fishing was, I said look you can see them rising, he watched then said he had just come from Ferry, about 65 fishermen there and no risers.  Left and went to Jesperson Launch just down the road, packed with trucks and trailers, hardly any room left for parking, launching was one after the other......left for the Vedder.....beautiful day :P

More info on your inflatable collar? Very curious. I've been noticing lately, there isn't many people I see on the flow with any sort of PFD, myself included. Are there some that are extremely discreet that I'm missing?

You should have been there today, was even worse. Its great when someone dishes out exact directions to a spot. Don't get me wrong, access is for everyone but people need to realise that you are not just sharing info with the few contributing active members on these sites but the mass of lurkers who contribute little IMO.
