It's like this every pink season.
All the preseason hype, the projected returns, all the impatient and new anglers itching to get a piece of the pie they've heard so much about.
All those too cheap to buy gas if the odds on catching isn't better than  70%.
Those that are too lazy to explore on their own and possibly find a quite area for future reference.
(not that there are many during pink season)
Those that are waiting for someone else to bang the GONG.

All the info is here just be patient, sit there and wait.... or...... go do.

The fish have their own schedule and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

For the eager beavers, take a look at 2009's pink salmon thread and you'll discover when the fishing will be hot this year. ;)

I saw a lot of posts about people using different spoons and spinners but can you effectivley float fish with bait ( cured/dyed shrimp ) succesfully or is that a waste of time maybee?

...sorry this is my first salmon season ever

Generally bait do not work for pink salmon, especially if you are fishing in the tidal portion of the Fraser River. Spoons, spinners, jigs and flies will outfish bait.

In case anyone is wondering, I've moved a lot of actual reports (by posters who can access the fishing reports section) to the fishing reports section.

Terrible. It seems to be worse than a few days ago, again. Lots of surface debris too so it's making lure retrieving pretty tough.

Totally out to lunch.

Yes, but when I get back from lunch the Fraser pink fishery will still be over for 2011.  ;)

As I was biking back to my home came across two chinese chaps beside their motor boat on a trailer that was parked on the street.....thus sparked a short talk with them....amongest the various things that were said...one guy said at Sandheads today there were  TONS of pinks ...jumping about etc...
He said he used a pink spoon but the fish totally ignored the presentation.
Mentioned that he never saw any one land a pink even though there were plenty of them (????????)

Reports I have they opened up a dam  and the river came up 2 feet, not uncommon at this time of year.
