Looks like the commercial opening has been extended (again) until Sept 23rd, next Friday.
Yeah, why not?  Todays catch is more important than future stocks. Theres so many Atlantic cod opps i mean pink salmon to mass harvest.

That's a low blow! Can't believe there is any more "cream" for the commercial seiners to skim. Poor choice of words, as the seiners certainly don't skim.  ::)

Wow appreciate all the help. Lots of good info.

I was using uni knot and made only 3-4 turn. When do you use uni knot and clinch knot? What's the difference? ???

The difference is often in knot strength vs ease of tying.  The Clinch knot and the Improved Clinch knot are both easy to tie, but they do not retain a very high proportional line strength (the uni knot is about the same).  I recommend a trilene knot which is similar to the clinch knot but because you pass the through the eye of the hook twice, the second loop increases the line breaking strength by redistributing the strain.  This makes it impractical to tie on small hooks (>14) as trying to get the line through the eye twice is near impossible unless you are using smaller than 6x tippet.

I was fishing at Richmond from 3-4 today. Lucky me, didn't get any fish but got bird poop on my hair. :'( Watch out when they fly above you.

Great info, Thanks! ;)

Mid river was ridiculous tonight. About a dozen or so in an hour right before sunset. Megawatt was ok, but the best producer was the solid dark pink spoon.

Ok what the heck am I doing wrong? EVERYONE tonight caught at least 1, if not more, and me and my woman are the only ones who didnt. I played with a corky/bead/yarn combo I have, spoon, spinner, and a straight yarn'd hook. Ive casted, and varied depth of 0-15 seconds waiting after it hits the water, and varied retrieval speed. Fished different spots, and found pools and drop offs. Soooooooooooooooooo. What else could I do differently?

Oh and to add to things ive been trying, keeping a positive attidtude and enjoying the gorgeous skies the past couple days. But now im frustrated!
