Pinks in the mid river section are not tide dependant. If they are there you will catch them.

I thought the fishing at brownsville bar was tide dependant. The fish seems to be more during certain tides and move closer to shore.

That will just make people who cannot catch them feel inadequate.  Throw them a bone will you.  While you may catch fish during any tide, they are definitely more active and aggressive on the incoming tide.   Something about getting the extra push from behind sets them off, like a kick in the pants.

Fished mid river 5-7:30 last night. Very few fish moving through now. managed to hook 3 and land 2 but man did I have to work for it. Water level seemed quite a bit higher then the weekend at high tide and the clarity was definately worse.

Wow! You call that work.

Most outings on the tidal Fraser have yielded zero or 1 if I have been lucky and I know I am not just speaking for myself when I say that.

Hard work in Mid River, is a piece of cake in Richmond/Vancouver area   ::)

With the seiners laying claim to my favourite salmon fishing territory, I spent less time in the boat and more time on the shore. My Pink fishing success in Richmond this year was much like my multivitamin regimen...one-a-day ::)

The tide has everything to do with it. You may get the odd fish on the wrong tide, but when the tides are right it has everything to do with catching a fish. I'll put $ on that.  :)

Well I guess you have had better luck than most I have seen out there. I don't know about Richmond but Every night I have been out New West and on the North Arm this past week everyone has been getting skunked.  Could just be the tides or the netting I have been hearing about. [..or maybe I have just picked "unlucky" evenings]

I was out last night somewhere West of the Port Mann.  10-15 people casting in my area.  Saw three caught pinks caught.  I lost one right at my feet trying to self net.

One guy also caught a small Jack, and the guy right beside me had about an 8lb something chrome on, got off as it got close to his feet.

I fished from 3pm-5:30 ish.  Pretty much at high slack.

What I meant was 1.5 hours fishing in Richmond/Vancouver area and getting into 2 fish is not considered "hard work".

Was mid-river yesterday and it was steady in the early afternoon. Hooked 10, landed 6, kept 3. But then it completely shut off like a light switch and I didn’t see anyone get anything from 3:30’ish until I left around 6 pm.

The test fishery numbers have fallen off a cliff the last few days. Get out there quick for your last kick at the can, if you want ‘em.

Test Fishery at Cottonwood. The trend doesn't look good for this weekend in the lower Fraser.

The data won't lie.  If you look at the record of 2009 or earlier. You will say this year is the poorest pink year you have ever seen. DFO really mess up. The seines are allowed to run 7 days a week 15 hours a day since August 27th till coming Friday( if they don't extend again, it doesn't matter the run almost done anyway.) .

When the tides are right???? What tides do you speak off? Out going, in coming???

For the four of us that fish the mid river in Pitt Meadows, there has been no difference in catch rates based on the tide. Fish have been caught on both high water, low water and everything in between....  Haven't had a bad day in weeks.  Although I will agree that the lower you are in the river, say Richmond, that fishing is very tide dependent.
