Tofino fishing
« on: August 15, 2011, 03:01:24 PM »

I am planing a trip to Tofino in early to mid september to try surfing and check out the area as I have never been that way before. I have 3 or 4 days tops.

I would appreciate any suggestions on ocean/beach front cabin accommodations and fishing opportunities if any.

Thanks. :)

Just came back from Ucluelet - fishing was great - 4 springs (lost another to a sea lion but managed to bring in the head :o  ) and 3 hatchery coho over two days - stayed at the local campground to keep things inexpensive.

I don't have any recommendations for accomodations in Tofino, but check out the following web sites:

I'm sure you'll have lots of fun.

If camping is your choice, I personally like the Bella Pacifica Campground near Tofino.  Its a bit pricey in the summer ($50 / night) but it is on the ocean with a beautiful beach and plenty of facilities.  5 minutes from *cough* downtown Tofino...

Here are a few pics from our time there...  My wife took these as you can all tell! :D

And this one is from my trip there in June... had to reserve way ahead for this spot!

Surf and stay a lot in tofino and my recommendation would be cox bay beach resort.
Nice condos right on cox bay, great for a surf plus they have BBQ's to use to cook up that days catch and then soak in the hot tub afterwards.
Very inexpensive (by tofino standards)
