The banks at Derby Reach are a little steeper than you might like - not ideal for a flossing situation, but still better than what you'd find on the north side of the Fraser along that stretch. There's some good beach at the eastern edge of Derby Reach, where the original Fort Langley was located before they moved it to it's present location. Good parking too. Easy to find on Google Earth.

Spincasting with spoons, spinners, jigs in a couple of weeks from now for pink salmon fishing.

Bottom fishing with roe, dew worms and other bait in October and November for chinook, coho, chum salmon, bull trout and cutthroat trout.

You can also bottom fish with roe right now as there is a pretty good chance of catching chinook jacks right now, but the presence of many smaller coarse fish will be stealing your bait pretty often.

Tidal fishing licence is needed, a salmon stamp is needed if you intend to keep salmon.

Salmon daily quotas can be found at: http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/rec/tidal-maree/fraser-eng.htm

Since the regulations for Chinook say: "July 16 - Aug 31: Opportunities expected. Contact your local DFO office for details."
I guess this means you can't keep any springs if you do manage to catch one, correct?

Unfortunately, that information on the page is incorrect and should have been updated.

Tidal Fraser River chinook salmon retention information for this summer can be found in this fishery notice:

After notifying the department the mistake, the chinook daily and possession quotas in the Tidal Fraser River section have now been fixed.
