Converting a motor to jet drive
« on: August 21, 2011, 04:05:28 PM »

I have a 2003 25HP Merc.  Anyone know how much to buy a jet kit for that gal darn thing?  It's a piece of cake to pull the bottom end off.  It'd be nice to have a jet unit for river fishing.

they don't make kits for engines that small.
you can loose 20% or more hp converting to jet.
the boat needs to plane to work.

I thought that those common "20 hp" merc jets were built on 25 heads. Not the case?

Would work fine on a small boat - 10, 12 ft zodiac or something.

I stand corrected, looks like they do make them.

everything you need to know about outboard jets.
