There is a lot of debris in the water but if you are cautious you should be ok. I ahve seen them out there before and come back to the boat launch so its been done.

I've crossed it in my canoe, which is scarier than an inflatable with an engine. The key for me was timing: slack tide and it was a nice paddle.

I'v seen a RIB (rigid inflatable boat) with a small engine be unable to make headway against the current on the Fraser when it's ripping. Might want to mention the large amount of commercial traffic - they throw some mean wakes for us smaller craft. Just sayin'.

By lower, we are talking below Mission.  I go out in my small inflatable with an 8 horse around Langley with no problems.  I have run it down to the Harrison confluence and took it up and down the Fraser there with no problems either, although the current is definitely stronger with more eddies and more need to be cautious about where you are going.
