Just a shot in the dark here . I recently acquired a Center Pin Reel from the swap meet . Just wanted something as a back up reel in case something goes wrong with my other CP reel . The part I am looking for is the Line Backing Ring . I looked up Vivtek Fishing Tackle on line and found there web site  . They are out of South Africa and show the picture of the reel on there web page. . It is the Golden Eagle R.08 model . I sent an e-mail to Viv the founder of the company , but he wrote that they do not build them anymore . He said it would cost to much to send that part over here . I doubt that , however . My question is . Is anyone here familiar with this type of part . Or , do I really need a Line Backing Ring ? .
