went to vedder in the afternoon, water is high, the bar near keith wilson bridge is gone.... fast water, dirty, visibility is poor

Fished all day today and put 4 hatchery on the beach and lost 5X as many due to the fast water we were fishing

Water coinditions are excellent, saw lots of coho taken, all I could manage was one chinook jack but was red fleshed.

High water is not a problem you just have to search out new places to fish, slacker water where the fish may pull in to rest. I caught my fish at 10 in the Lickman Road area, water was fine and got better as the day went on. Snow level down a bit so that prevented some runoff so the river never really did blow out.

Higher water in the Canal makes tough fishing as the fish have a wide section of the river to travel through and will not stack up like they do in lower water conditions. Those long lining and sight fishing where doing well today on Coho as saw many on the beach in certain places..

Thanks for the report Chris even if it's not good visibility.I'm gonna hold off for another day.
I'm itchin pretty bad to get out there, I checked the fish porn and there's some nice pics!
I can hardly sleep I just wanna fish, those pics of Rods fish and all the others makes me
wanna go fish in full blow out conditions.
Heard there is/was tons of guys on the river, that helps the itch a lil.

First class conditions this am, dropping too. However it did not help me much as hooked and lost only one fish. A chap beside me got a nice coho.

A short trip this morning as I had work to do to prepare for a FVSS meeting tonight.

I second what Chris said.... but for a fellow member and myself it was a mildly surprising day. I don't remember the last time we had such a good day of coho fishing... I might do my first report in a couple years... stay tuned.

BIG HOES! And plenty of them for everyone in the area I was fishing. Sun was out and the water was in great shape.

After a long day on the river I finally managed to put my first hatchery coho of the season on the beach. In total I probably lost a dozen coho in the fast water, some of the fish were very bright and looked like they were fresh out of the ocean.

Had a awesome day on the river today, played lots of fish also got my first hatch coho from vedder/chilliwack.
So many fish runnin, big white springs, pinks,nice looking coho.
There was a lot of people but you can still manage to find good spots, best day on the river for me in a long time.
So much fun! Hope everyone else has a blast out there too.
Perfect conditions plus lots of fish.

Local guy here. Was fishing this morning and just came back from a hike on the river. Conditions are great. Visibility is excellent. A bit on the clear side for some. A little more green tinge to the water would be nice and should come with some more rain. The level hasn't moved much yet. It will depend upon how hard it rains tonight. If we get hard pounding rain then the color goes to chocolate milk then it sucks.
I can give an update in the morning if people are interested.

If you see it spike > 0.3m in 12 hours or so it is usually a good indication it is blown.
