As a Langley resident, I have been to Crescent Island (Poplar bar) a half dozen times and have had a lot of action. The bar, especially just after the low, is huge and people can spread out, but as the tide comes in the bar is covered in water and people get bunched up on what is left, so watch the back cast. The water is not very deep on the south side, but gets up to 14 feet deep along the North bank, but I find the fish are mostly in the shallower water. any way. Now I am in my small dingy, so I have the option to move off from the crowds there, and will head up just off the bar where the flats are only 3-4 feet deep. I hooked into a dozen fish last Sunday in the rain, before drifting down the bar. I would drift just out of range of the guys casting on shore (100 feet) and cast back toward them and hook fish within a few metres of where they are. So do not neglect that shallow water at your feet. All my fish on Sunday were on a small pink and gold wolly bugger with a white bead.
