I've been decorating a lot of trees lately and I'd like to pick up bulk some spoon blanks.  I'm looking for something as close to a Gibbs Koho 55 and 45 as possible, anywhere from 3/8 to 3/4oz.  Don't want to spend Pentac money.

Spot any for sale online?

Mudhole, Jann's Netcraft etc also sell casting spoon blanks out of the US but I haven't purchased from them.

For what you're after you'll have to look south and buy in quantity plus base metals prices have played havoc with the market.

Koho is also one of my favourite spoons, but costly as it is effective.
I have yet to find any blanks that are close to them in shape.
You might want to check out rvrfshr spoons made by a small company across the boarder.
They are slightly rounder oval spoons closer in shape to Little Cleos or BC Steel.
They come in 2/5 oz and 1/2 oz sizes suitable for steelheading and sell for around $20 per 10 pack or 2/3 the cost of BC Steel spoons.
You still have to add for shipping and handling so cost does go up in both cases.
I have used them and quality is good for the price and shape is very close to the Pen-Tac spoons.
I also pick up Little Cleo 2/3 oz spoons when they are occasionally on sale at Bass Proshops for I think around $2.75 per piece.
Action is slightly different from Kohos but only half the price.
When I fish non-snaggy runs, I still use mostly 3/8oz and 1/2 oz Kohos as I just don't get the same feel and confidence from using other spoons.
I also use 3/16 oz crocs a lot, and have not been able to find suitable substitute blanks for these either.

Kind of odd how you can get a plethora of spinner blade types (colorado, indiana, willow leaf etc) but only the tear drop spoon seems to be available in blanks.  Strange that spoons are so poorly represented.

Matt i highly recommend those Lil' Gems.  I use them in 2/5 and 1/2oz.  The 1/2 seems a lot closer to the Koho and Ironhead spoons in terms of shape.  The 2/5 is a bit rounder with less contouring.  The RVRFSHR blanks are great too.  There's also some nice genuine silver and gold plated spoon blanks on ebay.  They are shaped more like a croc, but are thicker and have a deadly side to side action.  I like these in clear water as you can keep the spoon size down while not reducing weight...so you still get down to the fish.

Can you provide a link? The only gold plated spoons I see are trolling spoons (very light 0.025" thickness).
