No matter what you do, be sure to bring a lawnchair and umbrella, standing up gets tiring and you don't want to lose the best 2 square feet of fishing space on the whole river because you are retying a new leader.
The tacklebox is a must, you need to carry your gear to the river in something, and your hoody doesn't have enough pockets and vests are too outdated. Good thing you're bringing your camo hat, fish get spooked when they see hair.
A landing net is needed also, as it's hard dragging fish onto the sandy beach and fish are near impossible to tail in 2 feet of water.
That being said make sure you wear gloves for when you have to pick the fish up, they are slippery, also reeling can be tough and you don't want to develop callouses.
Don't forget a fish bonker, because how else are you gonna kill the fish!
Last but not least, bring garbage. Tim hortons coffee cups work well, but make sure you seperate the sleeve from the cup and the lid so that you can make more of a mess. Regardless of if you use bait or not, bring about a half dozen plastic tubs and leave them all over the place. If your not a coffee drinker, just bring a 6 pack and throw the cans everywhere. If you have any balls of 150# mono then no doubt bring it to the river. The riverbank, the path to the fishing spot, as well as the parking lot and surrounding bushes are fair game places to throw it.
Regardless if you smoke or not, heck bring cigarettes. The butts are perfect for throwing in the river and the boxes are among the most
important items to throw around. And last but not least, plastic bags. At minumum you should leave at least a half dozen, and they go perfect in the shallows just out from where you were standing. Fish love hiding under garbage.
Better yet, if the lawn chair umbrella breaks, throw it directly into the river. And if you get a flat tire sometime during the day ...yup, in it goes!
