im no expert but 1 is pretty good for most coho. Use a 2 if they are on the smaller side...either way, I worry about one thing at a time [catching one first ;)] if you have both tie up several of each and see what works best for you

For pinks I used 1 and 1/0. I would have liked to tried a 2, but never did. I cant see Cohos needign anything larger than these

Seriously.  Use #4 Gammies.  That's all I buy and use for coho.  even in higher murkier water.  Match that with 8 or 10lb pound fluoro.  No problem landing them either with that combo.  Assuming that you are fishing roe or yarn of course.  If you are using spoons or spinners, thats a different story.

I use #4 gammies for yarn and #4 or #2 when using roe.
#2 is used when I bait up with bigger roe chunks.

Coho are spooky buggers so I find small presentations can make the difference on them biting or not biting. Size 4 with small chunks of roe.
In general I pre tie leaders ranging from size 1-4

There is no need for hook bigger than #2 on Vedder, even for springs. No.4 for cohos is perfect for smaller presentations. Same with mono line, 15lb is a max for main I would use.

yeah i would agree anything beyond #2 is absurd for most fishery on the river. people tend to overthink u need bigger hooks for chinooks but that just makes setting the hook even more harder.

Im haveing very big problems this year. Im hooking into easily double digit coho every trip, both my dad and I, and we only land 5-6 of them each time. We are using size 1,2 and the 1/0 with blades. Any ideas?

Agree with everyone that said #4.  At first light it doesn't matter as much, but later in the day I find sizing down is best.  Also, for some reason I find that my hook/landing ratio increases noticeably with #4s.

I use a #2 Si-wash with a #4 blade and my landing ratio has been good.
