Human Foot in a Hiking Boot found at Sasamat Lake this weekend
« on: November 10, 2011, 12:51:02 AM »

http://www.tricitynews.com/news/133400273.html

I just read this today in the paper.  Weird, because last night I was thinking about fishing the lake sometime this week.   And the foot washed up and was discovered on my birthday.  Kind of a sad story.  Some guy must have drowned and was never found or reported?!   Must be nice to know you've swam in a lake with a decomposing body or two in the lake.  But man, that lake is seriously creepy at night.  There are strange things that happen at night.  If there's a place that's haunted, it's that lake.

On a side note, has anyone fished the lake recently from the floating bridge?  I believe it was recently stocked.  I've never done well at that lake, and heard fly fishing is super hard there, due to the depth of the lake and the clarity of the water?

Well, myself and a few buddies experienced a few weird and seriously scary things one time late at night there.  We were young then (early 20's).  And would never go back again at night.  Even in the day, it just has a weird feeling (again some people can sense things and some can't).  I also remember clearly of a few incidents involving deaths around that lake.  A body murdered body was set on fire there - it was all over the news 5 to 10 years ago.  Drownings.   I would also seriously ad Alice Lake and Deer Lake (Burnaby) to the list.   Of course this all comes down to what people believe or not.  And I don't want to sound weird either.  Can't help it if things have happened to me before and I take notice.  Some people are also a little more intuitive to this stuff, and not by choice.  If places are rumored to say being haunted, they probably are.  Why else would that rumor be there? No point really.  If a lot of people have witnessed stuff in a certain place, I usually just believe it.   haha I must totally sound bizarre, but whatever.  It's the truth and I'm just sharing.

On the next episode of "Creepy Canada...." lol               The camp at the end of the lake doesn't make the lake look any better, come to think of it! lol  Reminds me of Camp Crystal  Lake from Friday the 13th.

I'm guessing the majority of lakes and rivers in the Lower Mainland have had a drowning or 2 so I guess that means they are all haunted.

PS if you are looking for ghosts you will see them  ;)

I don't understand.  Besides there are no sturgeons in that lake.   I definitely was not looking for them.  It's not just drownings there.  It's just the area I suppose also.

there are lake sturgeons in some lakes around.  Chilliwack lake is an example.   That one even have blue sturgeons.
Sasamat lake is one of the deepest lakes around.  you can never rule them out.

Well, we all know cultus has sturgeon...Green coloured ones to boot!!! i would guess most lakes that are fairly large and deep in this area will have them.

Well no.  Usually just in the Fraser River and some of it's tributaries (Pitt River, maybe Pitt Lake, Perhaps Harrison River and lake).  But That's about it.   They wont' just be found in lakes.  The one in Cultus, was determined to have been released there by someone.
