Where can I fish sturgeon without a boat?
« on: November 28, 2011, 07:42:57 AM »

I'd like to try my hand at sturgeon fishing next weekend, and I know there's places on the Fraser that provide decent fishing for shore anglers. I unfortunately have no idea where these places are. If someone could give me street names or even mark it on google maps or something similar that would be fantastic. I understand it's a bit taboo to post fishing locations on the internet, so I've put my email in my profile if you do wish to share your knowledge. Thanks again guys

I know that in maple ridge near the stave river is a good spot, not from experience, just seen lots of boats out there fishing for sturgeon.  No secret there.

many places from Richmond to Hope listed in this book:

Review the various bars near where you wish to go. Good sturgeon spots are usually noted but if it indicates the place is deep. That's a spot to try.

Just upstream of Derby Reach.  I have seen a couple nailed from the sandy beach near the site of the original fort on the fort to Fort trail.
