Snow Updates
« on: January 17, 2012, 08:24:09 AM »

Maybe a good place to update snow conditions here instead of under river conditions.

Also interesting to how much snow in your area. We presently have 12 to 14 inches of it here in West Chilliwack with about 4 more inches falling overnight.

Apparently they say Hope has 2 feet.

Hey Chris 16 inches in my driveway, and windy to make things even more interesting, 20 years ago we would have have been pounding the river, now we just pound the keyboard lol, warmer times are coming soon.

Things could get nastier if we get stronger NE winds with all that snow on the ground, nothing worse than the snow drifts on the North South roads.

I hear heavy rainfall this weekend. Sucks when I have booked 1 week off starting this Saturday.

Seems like everytime I take time off, the river is either blown or too much snow to get there!!!!!

From listening to traffic radio sounds like the highway is nasty with blowing snow and cars in the ditch.  I wouldn't drive it to go fishing.

Also sounds like Metro Vancouver going to miss the big storm and Seattle is going to get a foot of snow.

Just got back from Upper river. The day was fine with a foot and a half of snow, and roughly a half dozen guys fishing above the crossing. The snow plows have made it very difficult to pull off to the sides of road, making the edge  of the road  2-3 feet deep.

I had to call it quits when a blizzard hit up top and brought a total whiteout, the snow was blinding, blowing up into your eyes making it hard to see. Id also had enough of the guides freezing so I headed home. Only had to dig myself out twice. ;)

I'm thinking of heading down there on Friday. Any idea of the road conditions?

Here in Canuckland most of the snow is gone with the exception of the higher elevation.

This is what the Vedder looked like a few minutes ago at Peach Road when I stopped for a boo, no anglers in sight and its -10. That means cold fingers and frozen guides.
