The wind has died down some this AM and the driveway had not received much drifting snow overnight. I understand today is the calm before the storm and not looking forward to what is to follow, freezing rain, slush followed by flooding of the Chilliwack Vedder River in the melt. :(

Maybe it's true what they say: It's going to be a cold day in Hell when the Leafs win the Stanley Cup ;D ;D ;D

has been snowing pretty heavy at my place in east chilliwack wind blowing, but not quite as bad as it has been. still not looking good for fishing at minus 15 windchill factor, for me anyway. good luck to those brave souls that venture out.

Only a little new snow in West Chilliwack, nothing falling now at the top of the hour.

Warming up some but freezing rain now.
While driving down Keith Wilson at 40 k a truck went past me going 70 to 80, no wonder they end up in the ditch. :o

I think part of the problem for those venturing out tomorrow is getting to  the river period.  I had to do some work in Surrey today and just got back in to Chilliwack. My vehicle is covered in a sheet  of ice, and looks like an ice ball. Whatever rain/wet snow is coming down is freezing and making the roads extremely slippery. If you do venture out tomorrow I would do so later in the day so the road crews can give the roads a good scraping, and hopefully they can lay down a bunch of salt and sand too.  Without that you won't have much traction.

Be extremely careful out there ... I live in yarrow and it is a pure sheet of ice all around here.....I live 5 minutes from the river and if Im fishing I will walk to the river........

maybe waiting until the temps rise above freezing tomorrow morning is a good idea .... give the freezing rain and ice a chance to melt .
