Where do you draw the line and rather stay home than head out to fish?

Never. I will go fishing in any weather, in any season.
When it is well below zero.
In the heat of summer.
When it's going to pour rain or snow all/ most of the day.
I am a wuss. I only fish on fair weather days.

Staying put

I hate it when it dips well below zero. That's about the only time when I'd rather stay home.
Oh, and I hate the wind.

Well below zero with a wind would definitely be a deterrent. As well as being sick as I have been for the past week and a half.

Down to -5C is okay, after that icing guides makes for a long day with low probability of catching.

For me, it is generally the road conditions and not so much the fishing conditions that make me think twice, until it is well below freezing and windy.

I love fishing in terrible weather its badarse (then again, i dont have to drive). The only time i will quit is if its to windy to fly-cast or the weather is life threatening i love watching the snow fall though. I would rather fish in the freezing snow than the sun

I stop fishing when the road conditions are bad and the river conditions are dangerous.

Total wuss since I took up the fly...don't want wind, rain, snow or shivers interferring with my "elegant" casts and "immaculate" fly presentations   :P :P :P

got to be reasonable and not extreme conditions.  now these conditions are differently defined for each individual in different settings.
find your own convenience.   It all should be about having fun.

I stay away from the river during periods of prolonged extreme cold. Day time highs of 0 degrees or less and nightime lows of -5 degrees or less likely means water temperature is close to freezing and it is going to be tough to tempt a steelhead to bite anything. Better stay home and catch up on some reading or do some household chores.

I don't like dealing with frozen guides... I won't bother if my guides will freeze

The only time I wont fish is when I cant afford to. I wont bother going out if I dont have 4+ hours to, and if the wind will mess with my 5wt, then no dice. Aside from that, cold and bad road conditions are nothing new to me.

Pouring rain deters me. I cant stand to be in it. I would rather deal with the snow and cold than that. I have also gotten a bit soft lately though too. Fishing isnt as important to me as it used to be.

I don't mind fishing in any weather, but the road conditions are what keeps me away as well, would rather live to fish another day.
