« on: January 29, 2012, 07:29:53 PM »

Hey guys. I would like your thoughts on the temple fork outfitters 3113 cp rod...i am looking to upgrade from my stiff trophy xl rod..i cannot afford a sage so i am leaning towards the TFO 3113.. Does anybody even still sell this rod? If not ill buy one used.. Anyways, any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks.

Army & Navy sells them, go give one a shake. The slower the action of the rod the more your hook sets will suffer.

Google a phone number for Army & Navy and call them. I think they were around $180 but I'm not even sure if that's close to the right price as the last time I looked at one was over a year ago.

It's fairly similar to a sage but so is the amunsden rod. There are other rods out there that are great other than sage.

They are not the same. The action is  stiffer than the sage 3113mb.

care to elaborate on this  :-\
i own the amundonson rod, its a nice rod for the money. Lots of play but a nice stiff but for big fish or getting a fish across the rapids. Also a easy rod to cast as it loads alot
another option is a switch rod might cost a bit more but can make a nice pin rod.

Well...me and fish bonk were fishing in an area with lots of trees so when his line got caught in a tree across the river he showed me a trick called the "queen charlotte special" were you bassically give the rod one un-graceful gear busting jerk in hopes your line will
Come free from the tree.......whos the one thats hard on gear??!
