Chilliwack River, January 30th 2012
« on: January 30, 2012, 05:21:08 PM »

As the river was a loss this morning I decided to head to work and get some OT, then got some things done around the house and finally decided that I would go out to the river and have a look around 1ish to find it had a slight green tint and about a foot of vis... so I threw on a big worm and worked a lower river run.  Nothing.  Headed back up to the top as the river was cleaning up nicely and worked all the way down again with a roe sack.. and again, nothing even tho the water was starting to look very nice....went back up river for a 3rd time and continued having faith in the roe sacks that had done so well for me recently... but alas, I had made it thru the prime water and again nothin.. so I decided to head down river to a deeper slot and throw a nice gold blade on and work that area a bit...first cast over in front of a log, seem to be getting a good drift thru there and bam float down and the fight was on.  Put up a good tussle but did come to hand... and nice 7-8lb hatch doe...Mmmm dinner.  So she got dispatched, filled out my license and headed home.... watching the wife bread the fillet's up right now... potato wedges and fresh Steel...  ;D

And another tail shot cause that seems to be a thing now... lol  Or a good luck charm... or something, either way I ain't changing anything right now...haha :D

If we don't get much rain tonight, the river should suck so bad tomorrow... and everyone should just stay home, no point in driving out considering how bad it will probably be.... ;)

It was fished under a float.  So just like a normal drift with a bit of a hold back.  :)

Nice one Dave. You are really having a great season so far. Glad to see that my spinners are working well for you.
