I finally made a visit to the river today , arrived late around 1pm
tried a lot of spots along the whole river from canal to fishing boundary triangle, nothing
I guess I just need to hook my first steelhead to have more confidence in the future
before that , i guess I just don't know if i did it right or not on the river

leader is about 1.5 feet, bait is a thumb size ghost shrimp, will probably try something different in the future
maybe should even try first light fishing, hope it will make a difference

left around 5:30pm as snowed pretty damn hard and gets dark

gas in chilliwack is not as good as before 1.34/L 

anyway , not regret giving it a shot today

there are fish out there
work the runs and try all you have don't stick with one bait
change up your drift, depth, hold back a bit more, let it run quicker
sure if you put a ghost shrimp in the face of a steelie it should take it, but if your bait is swinging to high or too low it may not be seen by the fish, thats why changing your bait can make a difference in how it floats in the water
It is a lot of trial and trial
Time of day does play a part in when the fish are in the shallows (early on) as a pose to the deeper water as the sun comes up then they move back as it get later in the day
i have never hooked a steelie at first light most of my fish have been mid morning or later in the day
but hey I am no expert this is just my feedback
