The free month is only on Shaw.

I've been watching it for several years but you really have to pick and choose your shows.

If you go here: http://www.worldfishingnetwork.com/tv/schedule.aspx
you can see the schedule for each day.

A lot of it is junk but there are several good shows and a few really good ones.

- "The Lodge" is good - a QCI fishing lodge - a bit dramatic at times but good fishing action
- Of course "Sport Fishing on the Fly" is great
-  I also like "Big Coast" most of the time - WCVI fishing
- "Fly Nation" is good but geared toward the younger generation sometimes (tunes)
- "Nice Fish" & "Nice Fish Jr" - Coop's 2 personal fishing shows - he produces a couple others
(I'm not sure "Nice Fish Jr" is on WFC but it is still good)
- "New Flyfisher" can be good but seems geared towards beginners sometimes
- "BC Outdoors Sportfishing" is good - local action on lakes & salt

Most of the others are American or eastern Canada based.

There is one that is good to watch - called "Sportfishing" in the listing or something similar.
Mostly deep water ocean fishing but they have some cool underwater shots.

You should watch the "Tarpon Tour" at least once - it is pure mania.

Can't recall if "Sportfishing BC" is on there but should be.

yup - love watching them yank in the redfish, scoop 'em out with the net, jam their fingers into the gills to remove them from the net, then toss them back into the water.... glad they practice catch and release!

I don't care if you think those are "two of the worst shows to watch", I still find the shows entertaining and the scenery beautiful.

I only watch "The Lodge" because my buddy is sometimes on it.  but otherwise, not much in the way of actual fishing content.

As a newbie to fly fishing, I find that SFOTF is great and very informative.  Something that is on my PVR and kept there in case I want to learn how to tie certain flies.

Big Coast is well done but after watching a few shows, they seem to all be the same.  Sometimes I'm left wondering whether I've seen a certain episode before.

Fly Nation is great if you like to watch April.  Otherwise its too high energy for me.

I think Gary's shows have improved in the last few years.  A bit more variety in the places that he visits.  Not just the same old Queen Charlottes every show like he's done in the past.

BC Outdoors Sportfishing has a good mix of Salt and Freshwater fishing.  Always on my PVR.

As for Mariko Izumi, I only watch for the places that she visits but overall she doesn't seem to be that great of a fisherman to me.

I do like to watch a few of the american shows.  Like Anglers West for example.  Interesting to watch them fishing for Keeper Sturgeon on the Columbia.  Never seen a sturgeon get wacked and filleted before.  Something we won't see here!
