sort of curious as to which flavor of fenwick glass rods would be preferable mustard or chocolate (the older yellow or later brown hmg 1260 series)
for those in the know. i have not fished either, just graphite. appreciate any feedback.

I don't think there's any difference between the yellow and brown except color (unless you're talking about the brown S-glass rods that came out in the 1980s). The brown fenwicks are actually older. They switched to yellow blanks around 1971 in order, I think, to differentiate between their blanks and factory-built rods. I used to have several yellow one-piece 1262's which were great rods in their time for winter-run streams.

Bang on.  These rods are part of steelheading history for sure but are not even close to the standards of today's graphite.  Bulkier, heavier and uglier, imo.  But I sure liked my 1262 back in the day

Must have been hard to sneek outta the house with them 1262 one piece rods .

the 1262 i was refering to was the 80's hmg 2 piece brown rod,not sure of the model number of the mustard coloured blank.

The 80's brown "HMG" fenwicks were graphite rods ("HMG" stands for "High Modulus Graphite"). I'm lookiing at an old 1264 right now. Still a very usable rod...

Wondered what I should expect to pay for a Fenwick Blackhawk 1264 Blank and a smoothglass (brown) Fenwick 1264 Blank?

Both of the Fenwick 1264 blanks are hard to find now. I would think will be the same price range as Sages blanks. They are fast action and have a lot of backbone at the bottom half, and  i have both rods, but i don't use it any more since the 90's.

I have 2 Fenwick Eagles made from the 1264 blanks.  When I bought them, I also bought two extra 1264 blanks and put them away. 
Now that I'm getting more into fly fishing, I'm thinking of selling the extra blanks so I want to determine a fair market value for them.
