Lafarge Lake, July 1st 2012: Closed
« on: July 01, 2012, 10:53:06 AM »

Went to Lafarge this morn. Canada day  festivities all set up small parking lot closed. Went to big lot and closest to lake was closed. But found  parking asked one of attendants if ok to fish. He said yes lake would be closed late today for fireworks but ok for now. So went ahead set up pontoon started to carry it to lake when a lady passing by told me big sign at lake says closed. So asked another att. and she checked with radio and said no fishing lake closed all day. :-\ Needless to say I was not happy about it. Oh well I will try again tomorrow. Happy Canada Day

The fireworks by Archangel was great tonight inspite of the rain. The local band kept the crowd entertained for an hour prior the the fireworks. Crowd was large and generally family oriented. Rock on Coquitlam for the celebration. Must have scared the Rainbow Trouts though??

Doubt it, but don't be surprised to see a dead osprey, eagle or water fowl by the lake in the morning. That's ok though, as long as the kids are entertained since our visual pleasure is usually prioritized. These animals are after all, in our urban territory.

You guys obviously did not hear about the massive bird kill in Arkansas that was blamed on fireworks.
