Vancouver Salmon Fishing Update, Wednesday July 11
http://www.vancouversalmonfishing.ca/guide-journal/?p=667Welcome to the Pacific Angler Guide journal. This is where you can find the most up-to-date Vancouver saltwater salmon fishing reports. Pacific Angler guides and staff regularly post reports every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Pacific Angler saltwater salmon head guide, Eddie, was out at Thrasher Rock yesterday. While the conditions were good the fishing was relatively tough. However, he did manage to get his guests hooked into a rare halibut. He also had a double-header but the fish were unfortunately under-sized.
Overall, the general consensus is that the Thrasher Rock fishery has now wound down. The good news is that the local chinook and coho fishery is winding up.
Eddie is out as we speak. He lost a big chinook near the Bell Buoy (off of Spanish Banks) this morning. He also had a few other bites and released one. In the afternoon Eddie decided to switch his efforts to West Vancouver for coho. Immediately, he was into fish on his favorite “Casper” hoochie (make sure to come to Pacific Angler to get yours while they last).
As we move further into July you can expect both the local chinook fishing and coho fishing to improve. Currently, the forecast is calling for lots of sun and very little rain which is great for the saltwater angler. This means that the coho will continue to stack up along the West Vancouver shoreline providing us with some amazing Vancouver saltwater salmon fishing.
Vancouver Forecast:
Lots of sun with daily highs ranging from 24 to 25 degrees Celsius and daily lows ranging from 16 to 18 degrees Celsius.
Marine Forecast (Georgia Straight):
“Today Tonight and Thursday – Wind southeast 5 to 15 knots becoming variable 10 early Thursday morning then increasing to northwest 10 to 15 Thursday evening.”
