I was thinking about picking it up for the pink and coho run this year, I would appreciate your thoughts and opinions.

pinks it should be alright but for a coho rod i say No, coho fight harder than pinks and on average are larger so you will tire the fish out to much possibly leading to it dying. also you should remember that almost every river that gets coho also has chum in the system at the same time and you dont want to be hooking those on a 5wt

I dont like the Dragonfly Rods. The chinook reels look a bit cheap as well, but I cant comment on them.

Honestly, if you are looking for a coho setup, buy TayC's. Honestly, if I had the cash I certainly would. For the price, with a decent reel and rod, and a floating and intermediate line, its a good buy IMO. Unfortunately I am strapped for cash for the next month due to a trip. If it happens to be around later I would pick it up.

Thanks Dan, I love the rod it just doesn't suit my needs right now. You can't beat Echo warranty either!

X2 $150.00 bucks including two lines.
Way better deal then the dragonfly and a better rod to boot.

As already stated the 5wt is a little light to tackle most coho situations unless you're planning on just fishing cap coho.

dragonfly is a great begginer rod i would suggest this to any begginer because it will still cast and for the price you cant beat it

I sold an 8wt dragonfly that had landed fish of every size(lots in the 10-25lb range) and even a spring around 40lbs
