Fishing with roe for springs
« on: August 16, 2012, 08:57:55 PM »

I was fishing the tidal fraser with pink colored roe and a guy told me that springs don't bite colored roe. He said that springs only bite natural boraxed roe? Only coho bite the colored roe.

Is this true?

I have always found springs to bite on pro cured roe the most of any salmon.
In fact I have always done better for springs on double red hot stuff roe when compared to natural.

I think this guy has it backwards  ::) Springs are chemical/scent junkies.

Thanks guys. Yeah I thought that may not sound right. He was a pretty old guy that says he's been fishing the Fraser a long time, so I was thinking there may be truth to his wisdom. But each to his own, I guess....  :-\
