Kamloops Lake and area, August 16th 2012

Tunkwa, or Skunkwa sucked, soooo, since I was staying in Savona, I dumped in the lovely inflatable Miss Barbi, slapped the 10 horse on her and started fishing from right around Steelhead Park. First night a few hits, but nothing to the boat. \saw a lot of little guys close to the shore, but nothing promising. We went out today, but it was really hot, so I said let's go in. As my son was reeling in, bang! a nice little 16 incher. We worked a little more, but it was an inferno out there, so we headed in for a break. After dinner, we went back out and danged if in 20 minutes, the kid had another one on. Flippin' biggest whitefish I've ever seen, it had to be 3 pounds at least. We put it back, not being sure of the regs and if I can't eat it, I don't kill it. Ten minutes later, bang- another 16er -  Then nothing.  The kid is killing me/A nice shower, a hot tub, post this and off to bed to dream about the big one tomorrow.

Bring out the heavy metal, ford fender and a wedding ring topped off with a nice chunk of worm.

Almost the same advice a local guy gave me. He's an avid fisherman, lives around the area and works at the Savona office/yard for the same company as my wife. I was working a minnowish fly on a sinking line, but the boy kicked Dad's tail :'( :'( Hardware tonight. Did you go take a peek at the boat yet Bassman? Loving mine, the 10 boots it along pretty good, a little trim fiddle and it planes just fine. Gotta try a 15 though...... :o
