Excuse my obvious question, but what do you need an indicator with weight for?!?

We use floats with a weight built in for casting long distances with light lures or baits on conventional fishing gear but not sure why you would want the same in a strike indicator.  If your indicator is so large it needs to be weighted you probably really are bobber fishing at that point..

I would think it would make it harder to cast and not sure what application they would be good to us for fly fishing.
